15 Pounds!

So I did it, I hit my first goal! I have officially dropped 15 pounds. It took a little while to get here, but I am ok with that. I want it to stay to never come back again once it is gone, so if it takes a while for it too come off that is ok with me! I feel so good. My pants are even pretty loose, but I want to wait to buy new jeans because I want to keep loosing, not keep buying new pants. How long shou
ld I wait though? When is it a good time to buy new clothes? All problems I have never dealt with before, but it is a problem I am ok having.

I started the next session of Zumba last night. It was intense, but so much fun. There was a lot of new people in the class and a lot of new steps. I thought I was going to be on top of all the steps and then the instructor switched them up! No worries, it is a good thing. I signed up for 2 classes this session, so I have another class on Thursday. If you ev
er thought about taking a Zumba class, do it1 You will l
ove it!

2012 is my year

Yep, my year! It is going to be a great year, and it is already off to an awesome start. I know every year we all decide to some degree to lose weight and get in shape and eat healthy. I have been working my way to this point for the last 2 years.

I have been studying and researching ways for our family to change our eating habits in ways that will work for us. We cut out high fructose corn syrup, and went to more organic foods. We stopped buying juice, candy, and highly processed foods. I had to get a little more creative with lunches and snacks for the kids, while teaching them to make the healthier choice.

After I figured all that out, I needed to figure out exercise for myself. I know that I can eat as healthy as I want, but without the exercise thrown in there, I wont meet my goals. So in January we got a family membership to the Community Center. With Jeremiah's insurance we will save $40/month if we go at least 8 times. That makes it cost only $6/month. No reason not to sign up! We take the kids swimming and to run around the gym. Sometimes we put them in the daycare so Jeremiah and I can get a work out in. Other times I meet up with an awesome friend of mine that has been a motivation and inspiration to me.

In February and March I exceeded my 8 times of going. I walk the track or treadmill, Elliptical, or bike. I also work in some weight training for toning. I have actually hit that point that I really enjoy going and feel bad when I don't make it! My friend and I also signed up and did our first session of Zumba! Let me tell you, I am so uncoordinated for it, but it is the most fun I have ever had working up a sweat.

So as of now, I am down 14 pounds and about 7.5 inches. I feel so much better in my skin and clothes, that I know I will keep on this journey. I will keep track of more of my journey here in this blog.

Thanks for listening

Try something new!

I know I have said many times that I want to stay up on this blog, and then I go about a year without updating it. Well, lately I have found so many wonderful blogs out there that have inspired me to take back up on using it. I thought I would just start off by updating what has been going on in our lives in the last year!

Heather~ I have been doing online courses with MState for the past year. I am going for Medical Coding and Insurance. The plan as of right now is to continue staying home until Emma is in 1st grade and then go back to work. I didn't want to go back into banking and always wanted to do something in the medical field. I am still scrapbooking. I wish I had more time to do it. I really do enjoy the time I spend creating pages of our family story. I just recently realized I have a love and passion for baking. For my birthday I even received a Kitchen Aid Stand mixer and LOVE it!! I really do find any excuse to use it. I have been on a Cake Pop kick. They are just so fun to make and they actually taste so good. I guess this is how it all started. I found a blog named Bakerella. She is the one that started the whole Cake Pop craze. I guess I am starting to find my creative side. I really want to get a sewing machine next to see what great things I can do with that. I have so many ideas in my head!

Jeremiah~ He is pretty much the same. Still working for Egan. Last year he hit the 10 year mark. I am very proud of him for being dedicated to his job. He has taken up a new hobby of playing board games. Not your fun party board games, but ones that take 4 hours to play! They are strategy games. Not my idea of fun, but friends of his like them also. They end up having game night at least once a month!

Ethan~ He has been a busy boy! He is in First grade and loving it. Learning math and how to read. He really has become a good reader. He plays as many sports as he can. Soccer, baseball, flag football, and basketball. If you ask him right now he would say his favorite one is basketball. This past summer he perfected his bike riding and swimming skills!

Emma~ She is the busiest little girl I know. Always going going going. She has a Wiggles and Giggles class that she went to for a little while. She loved all the dancing and jumping and playing that they did. In a couple of weeks she is starting a tumbling class. She is super excited for that! She is learning to count and ABC's. We started talking about preschool for her too. We think it is time for her to get out and learn what she can from others and learn how to behave in a school setting.

Family~ Jeremiah and I went on a cruise the beginning of the year. It was our first cruise. We went to the Bahamas. Best time ever! I didn't think I would have enjoyed it as much as I did. After we got back from our cruise we signed the whole family up for a membership through the community center. We love it! We take the kids swimming about twice a week. I have also started going and using the walking track and the treadmills and weight machines. There is so much to do there. Plus we get a discounted rate on activities that we sign the kids up for that are offered through the Community Center.

So that is us in a nut shell! I promise I will try harder to keep up on this post and see where it takes me!

Thanks for listening!

Boy have times changed

I was sitting with Ethan this afternoon before he had to catch the bus for school and I asked him if he had a girlfriend? Keep in mind he is in Kindergarten and only 5, but if you think back to when you were in Kindergarten I am sure most of us can say we had a "boy/girl friend". So I asked Ethan if he had a girlfriend. He immediately answered NO! So of course I dropped it and moved on...wait what? No that doesn't sound like me. So next I asked if he liked anyone in his class. With this cute little smile he said yeah. Her name is Kate. Oh so cute, Kate!

So I decided to tell Ethan about my Kindergarten boyfriend. His name was Adam. He rode my bus and even kissed me on the cheek. I know, we moved fast back then! I had even invited him to my birthday party. I am pretty sure though it didn't last very long. I faintly remember there being another girl he liked too.

The thing though that made me sad was when I asked Ethan if he was going to tell Kate that he liked her, he said no that he didn't want to get into trouble. So I asked how he would get into trouble? He told me that his teacher has said that they can't ask each other to be boyfriend or girlfriend. How sad is that? I mean, yeah 5 and 6 year old's shouldn't be making these connections, but I wonder if that will have any affect on him in the future? Not that I want him having girlfriends he is too young!

Summer is here!

Yes, it is official. The beach is open and Summer is here. We enjoy a season pass at the Minnetonka Regional Parks, beach. It is an inexpensive way to spend the summer with the sand and the water. The beach opened on Saturday and we were there! We had so much fun. Emma didn't want to come out of the water. Not even to eat the picnic lunch we brought. When we left, we were water logged, full of sand and sunburnt, but it was the best day ever! I know we will be spending a lot of time there this summer.

New Updates

Ok, ok I know. It has been way to long. I am not even sure if there is anyone out there that still reads this, but for those of you who do check it once in a while I felt it was time to update you all with our lives.

I guess the biggest thing that has changed is that I left my job, and we are selling our house. At my job they decided to force me out of my position and put me in one that didn't work for our family. After a lot of thought we decided it would be best for us if I quit and stayed home with the kids. It is ultimately what I have always wanted anyway. In that decision it also led us to put the house up for sale. Which is fine. We thought about it and really wanted to be back in Chaska anyway. It is just a house. So we are renting a townhouse for the time being starting May 1st and will be back in Chaska!. We do have an offer on the house, we are just waiting for everything to go through.

Jeremiah's job is good. It has been slowing down some, but he has managed to stay busy. He did take a little break so we could take a trip together. Finally after 10 years together we went on a real vacation. We hit up VEGAS!! I will add some pictures and write about that separately.

The kids are good. Ethan has been going to Preschool. He loves it. He is also getting really excited to turn 5 and go to Kindergarten this fall. Emma is good. She is very busy. Definitely keeps me on my toes.

Emma's Birthday- Stages 2 & 3

Stage Two: This was the easiest of the stage all we had to do was give Emma her present from us. We had gotten her a Pink Coupe so she could cruise around in style. We also were given a few pieces of banana cake from the neighbors so we had that, Emma Loves Banana's
Stage Three: We had Emma's Birthday Party for the city folks on the 4th of July. It was a good party. We had Taco Salad in a bag and Patriotic Dessert. Emma had gotten lots of good presents. After we had eaten it started to Rain pretty good and all the kids went out and just got soaked they were having a blast. We ended the party with a bang as we lit fire works of and the watched the Waconia ones from the comfort of our home. A good time.
